Robert took this shot of me taking it easy this morning. (Yes, those are PJs!) I love the even light coming in through our bank of windows.

Mackenzie has drawn everybody’s attention in New York at Calvin Klein, Proenza Schouler, Prabal Gurung, Ralph Lauren and in Paris at Chanel, Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Valentino. In Milan and London she didn’t miss the most prestigious shows, and walked in Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Jonathan Saunders and Mulberry.

She is now a serious fashion model: Vogue editorials, serious clothes, serious photographers – no smiling allowed!

One of strangest parts of my business, is seeing young girls like Mackenzie ending up on the covers of Vogue Italia. But last Spring, only months before her Euro debut, I shot Mackenzie for Eliza magazine. Photographed at her family’s horse ranch outside SF, the model was truly in her ‘natural’ environment.

The reserved teen spent time wandering the property, and hanging with her closest friends; her horses, and her little sister.

Downtown Oakland isn’t all about #Occupy these days. A pair of images from Kaiser Permanente’s Thrive campaign are also looming large over the scene, featuring the cute, warmer-wrapped legs of some young models I shot in London’s Hyde Park. I shot them together, but Kaiser’s agency team thought they worked best apart.

This weekend I had a few moments to spend some quality time with the final ads, which may in fact be the largest ever outputs of my work.

Last summer, I met with ex Avon CD, Fiona Ip, to talk about testing. Over lychee cocktails (nothing better on a humid NYC day!), we started the conversation that has now become three shoots in five days. More soon on that…

Occupy Wall Street is an ongoing series of demonstrations in New York City based in Zuccotti Park, formerly “Liberty Plaza Park”. The protest was originally called for by the Canadian activist group Adbusters; it took inspiration from the Arab Spring movement.

The participants of the event are mainly protesting against social and economic inequality, corporate greed, and the influence of corporate money and lobbyists on government, among other concerns. Adbusters states that, “Beginning from one simple demand – a presidential commission to separate money from politics – we start setting the agenda for a new America.”

The protest’s organizers hope that the protesters themselves will formulate their own specific demands, expecting them to be focused on “taking to task the people who perpetrated the economic meltdown.

“Sundance Film Festival Style Night Out” Events Kick Off in San Francisco, Helping Women Take on their Winter Adventures in Style
